My answer to such people is:-

Ei incumbit probatio qui dicit, non qui negat

The burden of proof rests on who asserts, not on who denies.

Before I accept a discussion from believers I always ask them to prove three things

1. That a god exists.

2. That s/he is their god and not someone elses.

3. They have the authority to speak on his (or her) behalf.

They usually quietly leave, or on occasion get very angry and unchristianly abusive.

Considering that the TTC has been running ads for the “Bus Stop Bible Studies” group for ages now – it’s about time that another (not THE other, despite what they might think!) side gets to get a word in edgewise ;)

My “favourite” bit of feedback was the old “You can’t scientifically prove God doesn’t exist”, meaning that the default position is then to assume that God does exist.

Heard some of the feed back this morning (Jan 29) from the vox box segment. The good mix of pro and con arguments. As usual, the religious sounded whiney and defensive. If just talking about the ad can produce this much feed back I can hardly wait for it to appear on TTC buses.

Seems to be the only part of the show without a podcast. Even Steve Munro (of SteveMunro.ca Toronto transit blog) has his section on the podcast page (http://www.cbc.ca/metromorning/). I wonder why your clip is not there. You might want to ask them to put it up, so that we can all hear it.

I tuned in but didn’t hear anything from the Windsor station so it must have been for the Toronto area only.

It went well for being my first radio interview, I’ll be posting it online after I see if the CBC puts it up. Sometimes they post clips from previous shows, if they put the interview online then I’ll post a link.

It was only a quick 5 minute interview.
